Im confused just like you..my dr.'s been playin these "lets change your due date" games with me...but I think march would be right for your due date...because I concieved in late July and my due date is late April to very early May. So for you to concieve in June...maybe late Feb would be right if you concieved in early June but any later than the first week would probably be March. Well the way I look at it with my own pregnancy..the baby will come when its ready. Good Luck I wish you the best!!

They usually use the date of the last cycle to calculate. Below is a link to a pretty neat pregnancy due date calculator from the Medical College of Wisconsin that shows how they do it.

For example, if the date of the last cycle was around 5/23, then conception is estimated to have occurred around 6/6, and the estimated due date is calculated to be around 2/27.

Use this as a guideline or estimate only. The baby is the best judge of things, and as you probably know, he or she can prove them wrong by 2 weeks or more!

I am guessing that this is because of the way that doctors count the weeks for pregnancy.

You know it is 40 weeks. However the counting starts the first day of your last period. 2 weeks BEFORE you conceive. So it would only be 38 weeks from June 6. If you were 36 weeks last week, you only have three weeks to go ... (except full term is 38 to 42 weeks so if you don't have your hospital bag packed, go do it NOW. Especially for #3)

Good Luck

Don't go by the "9 months" thing-- it's more like 10 months, anyway. It's 40 weeks from the first day of your last menstrual period, or 38 weeks from your last ovulation. If they're changing your date, it's probably more due to how large the baby is, than when your conception date is.

Sounds exactly right to me! I know that I conceived during the first week in June (1-6th) and My daughter was born feb 25th! (2002). So, it's right!

ask the doctor...if I have 4 other children and was 8 months pregnant, I'd be dog tired myself...rule out anemia or some such ailment, then chalk it up to the reason above.

some times a baby is born 10 months along your pregnancy.

They go by the first day of your last period. So the counting starts actually before implantation. That is just how they do it. So you should be on track.

Dont worry the baby will just be a little premature...
The reason could be that it is to big for you and will not be able to squeeze it out if it grows past that date, or the docter is a dumass
