You might like some Alice Hoffman books - Green Angel, Aquamarine and Indigo sort of remind me of Lois Lowry books. I've read other novels by her and like them, but the plots are a bit odd. Still, you might check them out.
Lurlene McDaniel has written some, too, but most deal with life/death situations and I have cried while reading a few.
I haven't read these yet, but The Uglies by Scott Westerfeld have pretty good reviews (trilogy).
Did you read messenger and Gathering Blue by Lois Lowry? I read The Giver a while back and those two recently. Really liked messenger.
I just thought of another author or two: what about Gary Paulsen? Hatchet and Soldier's Heart I've read, but there are others. And Walter Dean Myers has a powerful voice. I've read Monster.

If you enjoy Stephenie Meyer's books, I would suggest "The Silver Kiss" by Annette Curtis Klause and the "Vampire Kisses" books by Ellen Schreiber.
I've only read one Dan Brown and didn't particularly enjoy it, but maybe Blue Balliet's books, "Chasing Vermeer" and "The Wright 3" would interest you.
If you enjoyed "The Giver" by Lois Lowry, try "The City of Ember" and "The People of Sparks."
I don't really know Peter Craig or Gordan Korman, so I can't really recommend anything like what they write. I hope the other suggestions help!

If you like historical fiction like Dan Brown try Dore Gold's The Fight For Jerusalem. It tells the real and exiting history of this Holy City. It has political intrigue, wars, Romans, Jews, Christians, Muslims, Crusaders.....It also has beautiful color photos of historical objects in museums. This book proves that facts can be more interesting than fiction.
