Its about time to move him to a "convertible" car seat. These are the kind that stay in the car all the time, but can be both backwards and forwards facing. Always remember, no forward facing until 1 year AND 20 lbs.

There is a SnugRide called the Safe Step 1. It is only for rear facing infants up to 30lbs. It will NOT work with your current SnugRide or SnugRide 2 bases, though. I would suggest a convertible carseat. Remember, no forward facing until 1 year AND 30lbs for the SAFEST ride for your infant! :-)

That got here about with both truly one of my females. i'd see human beings walking round with their toddler carseats and their little ones were like a year previous and there i develop into with my 7 month previous. convey a stroller everywhere. that is the perfect ingredient you may do. each and every time you flow to a keep that wouldn't have carts you need to be bringing a stroller. I continually have on in my automobile. considering toddler is so little and also you pick a diaper bag with you an umbrella stroller isn't proper. you should convey one with a provider basket below. you do not ought to consistently carry him. also that is a sturdy theory to convey the stroller with you once you flow to physician appointments in case you flow to a better sanatorium or health facility for them. you'll see how a lot more convenient that is than to carry toddler, a bag, and a handbag all mutually. it variety of appears like a hassel to no longer have the toddler carseat anymore yet... you receives used to it and see that its truly no longer that undesirable!

Unfortunately, when he gets bigger you're gonna have to move him out of the bucket and into a bigger carseat. Are his feet going over the end of the carrier? If yes, he's too big to be in there.
Wal-Mart has some really good and affordable car seats. Don't put your growing boy at risk because you are too cheap to upgrade to one his size.

You'll have to purchase a new car seat that is designed for children who reach in excess of the 20 lbs maximum before he is a year old. I had to do it with my first child, and though they're often more expensive.... well, let's face it, you can't put a price on your child's safety.
Here's a few links to some of the several car seats that are out there.

Convertable car seats, which at the kind you need don't use bases. You will need a seat for each car or to move the whole seat each time.

You should invest in a Britax Marathon, they have the highest safety rating and last for a long while, but you have to make sure he hits the 22lbs. before you face him forward, the Britax are convertible so for now he could be rear facing, and then when it's time to turn him around you are good to go. Happy Shopping.
