Because the term "online games" is buried down the list and behind video. If they had moved the term to the top of the list and as a separate category it would probably get used properly more often.

Most of the question in board games that i've seen about online games were about online board games. like chess played through yahoo games. so either category is equally valid.
still annoying though.

Laziness maybe? They can't read? Or they never heard of board games since family board games haven't been alive since the start of the new milennium. I haven't seen a 12 year old kid pick up Monopoly since PS2 or Final Fantasy XI Online came out.
