Okay, I am coming from Wisconsin to visit. yippee right? Okay well, I have a few questions. I want to do my engagement pictures there on the beach and we will be staying in Orlando or Daytona at a Timeshare. Now, my photographer is based in Orlando. Where is the best beach or place that easy to drive to to get the best sunset and pictures on the beach? How far is Anna Maria Island from Orlando? How far is Sarasota from Orlando? How about any other place that would be really pretty? I love the ocean and can't wait to see it again. Any help you could give me is appreciated. Also, where would be the best place to go? We have been to Naples, Ft.Myers, Marco, Sanibel and South Beach/Miami. We have been to the keys. I just want a setting with palm trees, tropical and the best sunset place. Please help a northerner!

Bradenton and the islands of Anna Maria and Longboat Key are a little over 2 hours from Orlando. Sarasota and the exit for Siesta Key are another half hour south. All of the barrier islands have great spots to catch sunsets.

I recommend hitting the WalMart and putting $5 on the big Road Atlas book with the maps of the states, including Florida !
Then cross reference them with the large portion of Florida that was trashed by the tornado today (including just north of Orlando)
Then use mapquest or yahoo driving for all your distance questions.
