Bush is responsible for the tax cut that improves the economy that was headed toward recession after 9/11. The economy has done great under Bush and the deficit is on a huge downward tilt. Bush led the nation as a compassionate and strong leader after 9/11. He helped the US get back on our feet. Bush helped institute secutity changes and the creation of the Homeland Security Organization to protect the US. He also instituted changes in the monolithic CIA, FBI and other huge governmental departments to collaborate on security issues. This working together was unprecedented but necessary for protection. Bush led the effort to provide federal security in our nations airports. Bush has done tremendous things to protect us and there have been no terrorist activities on our soil as a result of his policies.

Your thoughts?

I think you have mistaken rhetoric for fact. He is probably the worst president that I have seen in my 61 years on earth. There is just not much truth to your statement. He doesn't have a clue as to how to run the business of the country. His poll numbers show that.

Are you freaking kidding me!!! Where have you been the past 8 yaers. First, 9/11 would have never happened if Bush would have came back from his vacation and did something. He flat out admited on national Tv to neglecting Huracine Catrina victims stating overseas was more important. It is not a war on terrorism or did you not get the memo that the iraq war has nothing to do with 9/11. Also, are country is not the best it has ever been are national debt is higher than ever, and our econmy is horriable. People ar loosing jobs that pay $50,000 a year and working for minimum wage. Over the past 8 years the rich have got richer, the poor poorer, and we no longer have a middle class. Our country is no longer the richest country in the world China and Russia are way better off than we are. He lets people send jobs overseas, and raises student loan intrest rate to help support a war that is going to be laughed at like vietnam, he is going to be viewed as an idiot like Nixon. Why do you think the American people have democrats in the seneate now. They are giving him 3 months to turn his **** around before they start cutting him off. He also liffted the collge tution gaps, making it unafordable for people to go to school. You have to be dirt poor or rich to go to college now. Get the facts look around you the American people are not happy! He is a laughing stock, wait till they see all the reruns of how stupid he sounds when he talks, then they are going to wonder how the hell he even got elected!

The economy is only as great as the people perceive it to be. And though the numbers were there, the citizens of this country didn't have the confidence in the economy, well, not as much as we should have had if it were so great.

And if he were such a great president, he would not have had to lie to invade a country, used the deaths of 3,000 of his fellow citizens to get the country to back the idea of his war of vengeance, and go against the wishes of a majority of the country and proceed in a war that was wrong. It didn't do anything he said it would (no connection with 9/11, no WMD's, etc.), other than get Saddam, which was his objective all along.

As for the other things you stated, he didn't do any of that alone, and he did it only after it was advised by the 9/11 commission. So none of the ideas were original, so how should he get the credit for it? He isn't the worst president in the history of this country, but he is far from the list of the "good" presidents.

Well, actually there have been a number of attempts at terrorist activity on US soil as well as a number of attacks elsewhere, including the 7/7 bombings (um, which happened to be against our most powerful ally in the "war on terror") and attacks in Madrid. The truth is, the fact that there isn't an abundance of terrorist attacks in the US, before or after 9/11, is because we have fairly good intelligence and law enforcement and more-or-less sensible citizens (compared to a lot of other countries). One slip-up on the part of our leadership doesn't change that.

I also like how you toss the word "compassionate" around as if the word had no meaning. I don't think that word appears in a lot of picture-books, though, so I can't really fault you for being ignorant about it.

But take heart. The nice thing is that because the military has now relaxed its enlistment standards in terms of high school diplomas, even someone like you can join!

Bush will probably go down as the worst president ever. He allowed 9/11 to happen. He lied to the American public about Iraq. Remember the WMD that were never found? Also remember the crisis in China when China found an American Spy on chinese ground? Bush weassled himself out of an apology to China. Also he alienated most of our Allies in Europe because of his arrogance and stubborness over Iraq. Economy is not doing great, and discontent among the public is at an all time high. And yet people say he could be one of the greatest pres this country has had? Give me a break!

He has increased the deficit to record levels, incidentally, the appropriations for Iraq are special allocations and not in the budget, so you can add that cost to his already outrageous spending. If that is taken into the equation, the deficit is even higher, there is no lowering of the deficit. The "great economy" you speak of has benefited the upper 2%, and has not trickled down to the middle and lower class. There were no terrorist activities during the Clinton years, but repubs are quick to blame 9/11 on Clinton. Quit watching fox news and think for yourself!

Short answer is,Bush will be rated as a good president by historians........When historians start smoking crack!

For all people thank this election was stolen it wasn't he won fare like every president before him did. Why do you think every republican who has ever won a presidency was either recounted and the only explanation they only have is that they stole the election because they have none. when they win they say we beat the repulicans with smarts which is not true but all historines well look and see that it wasn't a bad idea to go after terrorist in the end it will bassaclly look good for bush and the next prisedent man or women black or white who confronts terrorism but it will look bad for bush w and the dems if we pull out.

Why wasn't he fighting the war on terror in the 8 months of his Presidency BEFORE 9/11 happened when Bin Laden was at the top of the US most wanted list?

The only reason that their hasn't been a terrorists attack in the US since 9/11 is because post-9/11 he finally concentrated all US intelligence agencies on fighting Al Qaeda which if he had done PRE- 9/11 he may have prevented that attack.

From the first stolen election of 2000, to the abolishing of habeas corpus protection, to the utter abandonment of 1500 + people who died during Hurricane Katrina to Bush's War in Iraq,
He will be known as the best in becoming the worst president in American history. More like a con artist, and moron war criminal, he has arranged for the deaths and maiming of tens and tens of thousands of innocent people in the Mideast, leading us into a bogus war under false pretenses.
His tax cuts and unprecedented borrowing of money from foreign counties, record deficit spending and favoritism to the top out of sight wealthy show where his real priorities lie.
Now that we have congressional oversight, lets see some accountability. It will be interesting to see if Cheney can remain VP after the investigation into Plame's outing runs its course.
Worse President Ever !

probable because it really is the in hardship-free words shitty presidency that the historians for my area lived by skill of. except they were alive for Hoover or Taylor or Tyler or Harrison or ******* grant. they ought to bear in ideas Nixon, yet no, Bush is worse. Yeah, so he's retarded at the same time as it includes nationwide emergencies, yet so grow to be Hoover! Yeah, he relied on his generals, yet so did Taylor! now to not say contained in the least that i'm a Bush supporter or perhaps Republican. I do purely not imagine his blunders were the worst or perhaps the first ones made.

... well... it all depends on how things in Iraq go... that's the big issue... and it's not looking good right now...

the economy has been stable.. .not a very high rate of growth overall though... some, but minimal...

all of that other stuff you mentioned is, at best, a historical footnote, since most was merely knee-jerk reaction to 9-11 and it's effectiveness would be measured over tens of years, not 6 years...
