100,000's people did, in good faith, knowing that they would be able to complete their sets, purchase episodes 1,2,4,5,6 of star wars. Now for reasons unknown and never divulged by Lucas, we find ourselves unable to purchase episode 3 in VHS, and are unable to complete the series. Does Lucas intend on swapping all VHS of fans with DVD's? Or are they just satisfied with screwing us all out of our hard earned dollars? Why won't Lucas or other big shots in entertainment provide an email access to them in order to ask questions and be answered by someone knowledgeble. I guess the almighty dollar means a lot more to them then the poor saps who are stupid enough to spend their money on star wars crap and movies

It's not Lucas's fault that VHS is a dead format anymore than it is his fault that you can't get the soundtrack albums on 8 track. Should they produce a VHS episode 3? I'd say given that the rest of the series was available, they probably should. But even if they did, many major retailers have dropped VHS in the last year or two (since the release of episode 2). If you can't get it at Wal-Mart or Best Buy, sales are going to be quite low. So financially, I can't see how it would be worth it to them.

Originally, A New Hope was the only Star Wars film. That is why in the first film, the Death Star is apparently destroyed and it all seems to be resolved. It only changed when it became so popular that Lucas wrote the two sequels and then the prequels. And according to Lucas, there will be no more films however there are dozens of books that have been endorsed by Lucas and all are intertwined and leave a wide berth for a sequel but it is highly unlikely.

VHS has obviously been on the way out for at least five years. It's not Lucas' fault you couldn't see which way the wind was blowing.
