I worked one day at a pet store, loved the work (but had to find something else - I support myself and my home - $7/hr wasn't going to cut it.) Then I was offered a job at an eye surgen's office which paid more and offered benefits (I really need). The day of my interview with the surgen, the pet store kept leaving me (and my roommate) messages saying that I missed work (they never told me I had to work that day). They called about 3 times that day and 2 the next morning. So, any way, I started there immediately at the surgen's office. Well, my schedule was extremely hectic the last couple days since all of this began and I actually missed work at the pet store today. I was going to go and quit, telling them I had an opportunity I couldn't pass (true). But they keep calling... now, I don't know if I should even bother with it at all or if I should just leave it as is and enjoy the new job? I liked the pet store, but they only scheduled me 8 hours in a week. Just leave is? What to do?

Just call them and tell them you quit. You've essentially abandoned the job, but letting them know you're done would be the polite thing to do.

I think in your case professionalism calls for at minimum a phone call to tell them you no longer intend to work there. Dont' leave them hanging, especially on the days you are scheduled to work there. Put an end to it once and for all and let them move on and find someone else.

Since u already want to leave job @ pet job, just drop them a call inform them regarding it and let them find some1 esle to take over ur place. Just a simple phone call and the whole issue should end.

You should never burn your bridges. Especially, since you enjoyed your job there. It would be the professional thing to do, as well as, you will never know as you get older whom you may
run into later in life and where it might lead. It is a small world!

Good Luck!

By this time it might not matter, since they've probably fired you. But the right thing to do would be to talk to them and let them know what happened.

You should bother... its the right thing to do, and, besides, you've nothing to loose... they've been right in calling (if they didn't care about searching for you, then it would be acceptable not to call them back)
