We recently put new tile and the grout in some areas is darker than others. Can someone tell me why? Can someone help? Do I need to to remove the different color grout and redo it? or do I just redo it over it. HELP!! HELP!!

I agree with corezink. Always mix the grout you need at one time keeps consistancy in the mixture. Ligh / dark usually means more water / less water. I have had a problem with Home Depot's bone wall grout being different colour shading. Floor or wall?? lots of tile or little...will determine course of action. "lots" - there are grout "paint" that can be applied. I had a client do that with about 200 square feet of floor tile after the white grout they choose looked not so good between their green tile. They "painted" their grout a green colour (hands and knees and a small paint brush...looks great now.
DO NOT put a thin layer of grout over the existing. Will NOT bond long (or maybe even short) term. The cured polymers will not allow the grouts to bond.
DO NOT remove some of the grout and try to replace the "bad" parts. It will look like you tried to remove some of the grout and replace the "bad" parts.
It's all or nothing, if it is not "tons" of tile. You did tile because it will last you a "life time" and look GREAT for as long as you want. Do what ever it takes to make it look the way you want it to look right now the "second" time. You have to look at it everyday.

It sounds lke a couple of things, did you mix the grout correctly with a mixer and let it slake like it says on the directions, if not fraid your hung, the grout did not mix thouroughly enough and the slake period did not let the pigments in the grout color evenly. If you did everything correctly you may have applied too much water when you washed the grout off and perhaps too soon. If you are sure you did everything correctly it may be a simple solution of eflorresence or too much salt in the portland mix and/or your water if you have soft water. If it appears that it is lighter in spots like a film or crust you can scrub the grout with a mild sulfamaric acid and that should help. If none of this sounds correct you can try to stain the grout with a grout colorant(custom building products) or remove and replace the grout in the correct manor. For more info try www.custombuildingproducts.com they have a great website for the DIY.

The grout will be darker if it's wet or mixed differently than the rest. You need to probably remove the grout and do it over. This is not a big problem unless you have a whole wall. Be sure and seal the grout about every year.
