I've answerd this type of question often, and BTW thespians aren't the only people who can offer answers (no offense)
First of all "present" yourself is exactly what you'll need to do, but Relax!
You should dress for success, but not down, or over the top.
You should be well groomed on every point.
You should be humble and respectful to those judging you, without seeming desperate.
If it happens that your expected to sing, DON'T do a song from the show; but one in the same genre would be acceptable.
If you have to deliver a monologue; know it as well as you know your own name, spelled backwards; and/but again NOT lines from the show.
(The above relates unless specifically asked to do from that show)
What happens in an audition is exactly what you state. The judges want to gauge your stage presence, and certainly some levels of talent.
Consider American Idol auditions as examples of what NOT to do.
But above all, RELAX! Then if by chance you are rejected, Don't take it as a personal attack. Good Luck.

What songs do you know and are comfortable singing? Are you supposed to sing something from the show or not? You can ask these questions to the auditioner if not clear.Pick a song that makes your voice stand out.Do not pick a song just because you like it but you cannot hit the notes. Pick something easy and likeable for yourself. Never worry about what they want because you will drive yourself nuts.Do your best and show them your best.As far as a monologue, pick something that will show them you are right for the show.I don't know the characters in Alladin but chose something that will reflect certain qualities that you have that the character also has.Go online and type in teen monologues, find the dramatic book store in your town and ask the people who work there for a book of monologues for teens. Do not stress yourself out because auditions are not and will never be who you are as a person.I hope this was helpful.

here are some simple tips.
1. Never sing anything that is from a show that is currently running on Broadway or has ran in the past 5 years.
2. ALWAYS clearly mark your music
3. Wear something comfortable but still looks professional.
(no logos, bold colors are good especially red!)
4. Try to sing something that is composed by the same writer that composed the songs for the show you're auditioning for. (in this case it's Alan Menken so anything Disney is pretty much game)
5. Don't be shy!

OMG! I I did that show, I got Jasmine!
umm..... well I would say, choose a song that shows your range and that you can show emotion in
monologues are all about practice, be a little over the top, cause people wanna see how much you can do, so dont hold back
OH! Really important! NEVER sing a song from the show your audtitioning for, people hate that

Try setting up a video camera and do your act as lame as you can, then keep improving on yourself untill you feel comfortable with how you are presenting yourself. Then have others watch it and see what they say. Keep an open mind when they give you critisism. Remember we dont allways see the person we think they do. Good luck.

i began appearing in community theatre on the age of 9. i myself enjoyed it (my entire relatives might get entangled, which develop into an advantage). I persevered with the aid of intense college, and desperate to flow to college for a majour in Theatre. i began out as an actor, and ended up falling in love with the technical area. From there, I chosen degree administration and started an Apprenticeship application with Canadian Actors fairness. to this point I even have carried out artwork on over 200 performs in 8 years as a union member. as quickly as you upward push as much as now, you have a tendency to get artwork greater via notice of mouth and who you be attentive to as adversarial to the terrible resume slog of an early occupation. I even have in no way tried movie; no longer possibly my element. i like stay overall performance. good success!
