What if I may end up being a Biology major, but I have trouble with Physics, Chemistry, Trigonometry, and Algebra. Will I have trouble with them in college, also, even if I try really hard? In high school, I struggle with these classes, but I manage to make A's, B's, and C's in these classes. Can some one give me some advice on these classes? Could I come out with at least C's even if I do not understand the material, the class, or the work?

your goal in college shouldn't be to get at least C's without understanding the material... it will really hurt you in the future trying to get (and keep) a good job.

you should make an effort to understand the course material. there are TONS of opportunities for tutoring in college (free) and also TA's and Professors are available for extra help. If you were very busy in high school you will find that you have a lot of free time in college... use it to get help...and you may begin to understand the material.

You should go to college and find a degree in something that interests you and that you can understand. If you have trouble understanding concepts in physics, chemistry, trig and algebra, maybe biology would be all right, but maybe not.

My suggestion is to not declare a major immediately if you do not have to. Take general freshman classes that are required for any degree (usually some basic math, English 101/Writing 101, some basic science class, etc.) and take some classes that just interest you. You might find you like something completely different from biology, and won't have to worry too much about the other classes that don't make sense (which would be linked to a bio degree more than, say, a sociology one).

You won't need many of those for a biology degree. Check your college's handbook (or the handbook of some college you're considering, if you're not there yet) for their requirements for a biology major.

People might get mad at me for this part, but: yes, you can probably get at least a C with only a light grasp on the material. (Depends on the college, of course...more true for big universities.) Colleges require *everyone* to take some of these classes, and lots of people have trouble with these subjects. Basically, the required intro-level math and science classes are usually "easy" enough for an art major to pass them, and vice versa.

Don't count just on that, though. Colleges often have a lot more resources than high schools. They usually have free tutoring, and you're often encouraged to stop by your professor's or instructor's office if you're having trouble. (In fact, they usually appreciate your extra effort and like you more for it!)

WELL, if you made C's in high school, expect F's in college.. is what I was told and it's very true..R u trying really hard in high school, then if you are what makes you think college will be easier to understand.. It's 3 times as hard.. Prof. expect you to know your stuff..they don't re teach you. You will NEVER pass if you don't understand the material. I failed plenty of courses because I didn't understand the material..
