hello i at the verge of screaming outloud because my mic wont wokr. ive been trying for the past hour! ok i stuk the mic in the bak of the computer where it says mic. my mic has no on off switch. wen i put in the mic i get no sound tht usually comes when something i plug something in. anyways i goto control panel and goto the sound thing and wen i test hardware under the voice tab it says no hardware found. wats going on?!?!? i have a creative volume control thing, maybe i have to do something under tht please help.

ok so if u dont know y thts not workin i also have a headset from "turtle beach" it is one of those really big ones with surround sound. it comes with a mic to insert in the side. ok so how do i get tht to wrk i. put in the mic in this whole so now what. do i have to enable it somewhere in the computer or wire something please help!

ill give points to anyone who can help..im in a state of depression :(

o i frgt when i soto the sound thing in the control panel under the voice tab, in voice playback and voice recording it says the default device is my sound card in both of them "SB Audigy 2 ZS [A000]

the mic is muted by default. go back into the where you were in the volume properties and on the first tab click advanced. here it opens another box with wave and you mic is there also. put a check in the box and close this lil window. now with the voluming and wave and other items there will be the mic . take the check out and your mic will work.

It sounds like you have a built-in sound card and these are notorious for volume problems, they don't have the grunt of proper sound cards. You have to give us more details of your computer and OS before any sensible solutions could be offered.

Im not shure, but make shure that in the "Master Volume" panal Line In is not set to mute. And make shure that the right input is sulected in the software you are using is.
