New York City. Stay near Times Square. Get some tickets to see a Broadway show. Go to a club. Ride the subway. See the Statue of Liberty. There are a million things to do.

why cold? who the hell wants cold weather? if thats your real reason (i guess for skiing and whatnot) then SLC. however ive never been to SLC so i couldnt recommend anything. plus, NYC is gross in the winter.
but if you DO decide to come to NYC, then im going to go against the person above and get AWAY from times square. it is your duty as a tourist to not look like one. so keep the following at home:
-shiny white tennis shoes
-big i <3 NY tshirt (pack it for home)
-huge subway map
and anything else that will peg you as such. which is why i say go somewhere else than times square. aside from the bright lights, theres not much to do, except eat and watch street performers.
sure, do the museums and stores. but go somewhere aside your hotel and midtown manhattan. there are great things to do in the village and uptown, let alone queens and brooklyn. just look them up before you go.
p.s. dont waste your time with chinatown. unless all you want is fake louis vuitton purses and fake pashmina scarves. but the food is cheap and yummy.

I stay a pair of hours from Salt Lake and that's a surprisingly intense-high quality place to stay. It has lots to do there, yet there assorted mormons that is nice form of because of the fact there does not look as lots crime. Plus that is basically approximately half-hour from Park city, UT and omg that is alluring and intensely ritzy
