I have the GeForce 7900GT myself, I'd recommend you go either with that or possibly a 7950GT. In all honesty the X1950 Pro is a slightly better performer, but I've had trouble with ATI drivers in the past whereas Nvidia has been trouble free (for me).

I play Half-Life 2 at full detail, Vanguard Saga of Heroes on balanced settings, everything is great.

Here's the direct comparison below:

I'm not sure of the prices of video cards in the UK, but 100-150 pounds should correspond to $200-300 in real money. I would check out this article on Tom's Hardware (http://www.tomshardware.com/2007/01/05/the_best_gaming_video_cards_for_the_money/ ). nVidia doesn't really have anything competitive in that price range yet, but the 8800GTS 320MB will launch in two weeks and will be by far the best deal at $300.

I have BFG 7900 OC GT 256MB and I can play whatever and in really good qualities!!! Oblivion, COD2, Quake4, PREY, and lots more, I have no complaints. I have it for over 6 months now and paid $300 for it. I have a AMD X2 3800+ and 1 GB DDR (2X512) Corsair.

I have a BFG GeForce 7950GT OC 512MB pci express 16

I run BF2 and Battlefield 2142 on highest settings and no problems. got 2 gig of corsair ddr2 ram, AMD 5200+ 2.6 dual core processor. this card you can run any game out now with no problems. just as long as your ram and processor can handle the games too.
