What was up with the letter on the last show?He was saying "I'll miss you".

He was writing the letter to Sara, but when he got to the envelope, he stalled writing the address...Makes me wonder IF he was going to mail it.
After all these years of her wanting him and his being single, maybe he is having second thoughts at a relationship with a co-worker....
I don't like it anyway...I don't like the Sara character...she seems too needy. She needs to be a more independent person.

Good question. I think "Grissom" might be having second thoughts about going back to Vegas, and is writting Sara a 'dear john' letter.
But, from everything I've heard, the actor, William Peterson left to do some theatre work. He's supposed to be back.
Who knows... maybe the theatre bug got back into him and he wants to work longer.
Its all in the plan already likely, and that segment was probably filmed even before he ran off to the circus... I mean the theatre. It will be interesting to see how it all unfolds. I hope he does come back... I decided with this episode I don't care for the new guy. He has divided the team, and their trust of each other.

I think that he is just taking a break from the show. He did take some of the time off in order to act in a play in London. I do not care for the new guy either, something about him is a bit creepy and underhanded. I guess that proves he is a good actor.
What incredible writers this show has. It is always interesting, no matter what characters are involved. Have a good night.

I too heard that he's doing a play, and I think the letter (and not mailing it) is a brilliant way to keep all of us fans talking about it! Since they showed the coccoon again, I suspect it's some rare butterfly that will emerge around the time that he's back for good. And yes, Keppler is full-on creepy.

I thought he was telling her that he missed her. It is obvious that there is something going on between the two of them. Now last weeks episode when he sent her a branch with a cacoon in it, what the heck is up with that.

I really hope he comes back. I do not like the new guy. It looks like he is though. He was on next weeks previews

He's on sabbatical. He's acting in a play.
I think he wants to expand his talent & career.
