There are hundreds, maybe even thousands of political parties in the United States. Now if you're asking how many do people pay any attention to, then it's only Repulicans and Democrats, I'm afraid.

Go to this site, scroll down about 1/3 of the way. The list starts there and goes on far a long time. We have a lot of minor parties in the US.

I am afraid I am showing my ignorance in this
one. But the constitution guarantees my right to be a fool. At the expense of a chuckle here I go
