I personally do think that a scream is a great source of stress relief. hell why do it on a mountain top alone do it around the people who mean the most to you, they will understand the stress you are releasing. Don't just disappear do it with someone they will understand.

We are faced with low-grade, continuous stress in our lives. People cutting us off in traffic, job lay-offs, bad break-ups, bills, money issues, etc. Because of this, the stress tends to build and build and build.

Most animals have an immediate response to trauma. If you've ever seen a deer AFTER it's out of the headlights of a car, it falls over, moans and shakes. It dispels the trauma, allowing it out of the body. We don't do that. We just keep putting up with it - often shoving it down with food.

Going to the top of a mountain and screaming as loud as you can would be a way to release some of that stress and pressure. But if you can't get to the top of a mountain, running or playing tennis/racquetball can be a good alternative.

i will let out a scream in front of people to make me feel better. I think it is definately very healthy and people around me think I am crazy and I just laugh, they don't know what to think until I finally say i needed to do that i am going insane in my head. I felt like screaming to release some of the stress then they ask if it helped and i say well it took some of the focus off of the problems so i am a little less stressed at the time. Then i can think a little clearer and relax a little and get the thinking done and people usually step back and give me some time and space to do my thinking. It works for me!
