Hello im 15 i just add reconstructive knee surgery done like wednseday due to injury playing basketball and i have alot of pain in the back and on the sides of my knee What can i do to get the pain away they gave me pain killer but it doesnt work what can i do to make the ain go away plez

sorry to hear, ice helps the inflammation inside your knee. pain meds help some and take as directed, take your next pill when it's time to because if you wait longer the pain sets in more and it's harder to stop. just do this for a short time after surgery and you'll be fine. it's still so soon after surgery that no matter what you do you're still going to feel pain, sorry again! i know my worse days were always about 3-4 days after, and then it starts getting better. MOVE your knee as much as your doctor says you can, movement helps also because it keeps the muscles from spazzing out on you! i know it hurts to move, but it's the best thing you can do.

so, ice, meds and move!!!!

More pain medication and ice cubes in a plastic bag wrapped up in a towel.
