I'd suggest you consider learning how to meditate. Boredom is a great opportunity to check in with yourself to see if you are taking care of yourself mentally, physically and spiritually. If you are feeling bored, it is often because your mind is trying to find distractions to keep you from digging deeper into your consciousness, perhaps because you are trying to avoid dealing with troubling thoughts or emotions. If you simply respond to boredom by finding a distraction (TV, radio, phone, etc.), then you may never uncover what it is in your mind that you might be trying to avoid. Sit quietly away from distractions and observe the sensation of boredom. Don't judge it or push it away. Just observe it. It will not be easy at first, but after some practice, you will learn to cherish those moments of boredom as your personal time to check in with yourself, make sure you got your priorities right, and reprioritize those things that are truly important.
