I bought a strapless dress specifically for dancing, and I need to add straps, just for added security.
I'm not sure what materials to use, or how to attch the straps.
I would perfer them to be somehow removeable because I plan on using the dress as a strapless dress soon.

If your dress has hooks on the inside, go to a fabric store (JoAnn's is great) and find a trim or ribbon. If your dress has embellishments, find a trim/ribbon that has the same look. If you dress doesn't have the handy hooks, you're going to have to sew the straps in VERY CAREFULLY so that you can take a seamripper to them later without wrecking your dress.

Depending on how formal your dress is, you might want to make straps out of a sturdy ribbon or you can get all sorts of decorative chains; just go to a fabric store and there should be someone who can help you find what you need. As for attaching them, you just need to buy those little hooks that're used to hold bikini straps in place.

I would buy some ribbon you know like the ribbons little girls use to tie their pigtails? Well I would cut it and make it the measuremnt of my arms and sex it onto the dress with needle and thread? Don't you have a friends mother that could do this for you? geezes even I could do this myself! Maybe it cos I'm gay.

Maybe you could use fabric glue and glue velcro to the inside of the dress and one piece to the strap. I'd make the straps out of the same material as the dress.
