You'd be lucky to find an older townhouse for $200,000 in Doylestown, single homes probably start close to $400,000. When I think affordable area to live, Doylestown does not come to mind. I live about 15 minutes away, and Doylestown and the rest of Central Bucks is one of the most expensive places east of Philadelphia - some of it is because of the Green Space act.

But, it is a beautiful area, not far from Philadelphia. The town itself has some good shops and good restaurants. The whole area great for dining, shopping, antiques, theater, and has an excellent school district. Speaking of that, taxes are pretty high too.

Doylestown is a nice place. Affordable is a relative term - difficult to answer without knowing your situation.

If you like I can send you a list of what's available in Doylestown. Send me an email at damon@homesbydamon.com with your search criteria, e.g. price range, # bedrooms, # baths, etc., and I can send you back a list of homes by email.

Doylestown is a pretty suburban town outside of Philly. As for affordability, it all depends where you are coming from. It is affordable if you are used to NYC or San Francisco rents and mortgages, but it might seem out of sight if you are from an area such as the Midwest or South.

Doylestown is a very pretty town. Home to a small Agricultural College. It is though pretty expensive in terms of housing. In fact all of Bucks County is getting pretty pricey. But again it depends on what you feel is expensive.

Doylestown is nice without a doubt but "affordability" is relative.

It depends on who you are. Since it's the suburbs, cost are going to be up. The cost of homes renge from 200,000 and up.

Bucks county is one of the most expensive counties to live in next to Montgomery County.

The school district is great but taxes are high.
