I have this guy friend and we get along really well. I don't know if I want to date him or not though because his Dad is one of my professors (though we met completely in a different way), and he is moving in May and there is no way we could keep in touch. Are these good enough reasons to refuse him? Should I at least enjoy his company while he is here, or try to avoid him so it won't hurt so much?

"Better to have love and lost than to never have loved at all." Have fun, but don't get in too deep. If you can't keep him don't give your heart away; but it's OK to hang out and have fun.

If we were that cautious about everything, we would never get out of bed. What if we get hit by a car?

Seriously, good things often blossom from great relationships. Dating is a great thing (and really isn't a committment at all). If you dated now, enhanced your relationship, and he moves away, what happens? You'll miss him and be sad sure, but think about all the fun you had. Who knows, your paths may cross again in the future.

Don't ignore him. Enjoy his company. I'm sure there is SOME way you can keep in touch...
You obviously have a computer...
phone...
letters?
I dunno.
But enjoy the time you have left.

Depends, If he is moving in May, a serious relationship is not advised. If there is a possibility (as in they are considering it) then date him. The relationship will strengthen and he would have a better chance of staying

It relies upon on how distinctive the music is. lots of the time there is not any longer sufficient distinction in flavor to justify no longer relationship somebody. the version might point out cultural changes too that are actually and returned confusing to beat even in 2013.

Only you can answer this question. Just be normal to him, and see if he initiates any long distance relationship or not. If he does then you go for it. now a days distance does not mean anything.
