I have taken the ACT 3 times and I am about to for the fourth. I have gotten the same score 3 times in a row and it is kind of low, especially for someone with my kind of grades and the classes that I take. I am getting really discouraged and this is almost my last time to take it before it is too late for scholarships and college admissions. I want to know about ANYTHING that can help!!!! Are there any special disks, software, books, classes, tutorials, etc that could help me? Is there anything that can help me? Is there anything that I can do on the test, other than my best, that will help me? One person told me that when the time runs out she marks all of her answers of one letter. If anyone has some tips like that, I really would like to know.

i got a 28.

tips:
- any question that ends in an exclamation point is not the right answer
- the shortest answer that has all of the needed info is the right one
- in reading, answer the questions where you can just use context clues first... so you don't have to read all of the stories fully... then go back and do the summary ones
- skip around... if it takes more than 5-10 seconds to get an answer in anything, just skip it and go back if you have time
- get plenty of sleep
- it's been proven that chewing gum during tests highers your score
- try to check time an make sure you're about half-way done when time's half up... if not, go quicker.
- if you get done early, go back and check your work until time is up
- make full use of the booklet on which you're allowed to write... work out problems and make a dash next to the right answer for about 3 problems or so... then transfer all 3 of those answers to the answer sheet at once... it saves time

good luck!
