It does vary from country to country, and it also depends on the success of the team. I know that Australian players earn a minimum of $100,000 per year, with extra bonuses for every victory and cup earnt. The highest paid Australian player is Ricky Ponting, he receives around $800,000 every year. Other countries (mainly the ones that don't play test matches) such as Kenya and Scotland only pay the players when the players are involved in a match. This is because the majority of them play 90% of their cricket at club level, doing most of their training outside of the national team. I believe that the Indian players are the highest paid, and this is mainly because of endorsements and difficulty at getting into the team (more than 1-billion to compete with!!!!!!) Players that don't play at first-class level aren't the only players that get paid, players at state level also receive a payment for every contract earnt, and they will also receive match-payments.

In my opinion, if a team even plays one game in international or local game, the government pays them money just for playing and if they do best in the game, they are even paid more than regular. No,noth only the cricket players get paid in first-class but in any type of game.

They get paid per match. It is believed that Michael Clarke gets paid $750,000 a year. Mainly because of the commercials he has been involved in and his Slazenger bats.
It varies from country to country.
