We didn't have ice ages. All the evidence of things over 10,000 years ago is just Satan testing our faith, remember?

Actually lots of things can cause climate change. Really too numerous to list. Here's a few- magnetic changes, asteroids, atmospheric dust, the solar system passing through clouds of interstellar dust, evolution of new types of organisms with different byproducts, plate tectonics, volcanoes
And scientists have found now that industrial emissions also can cause climate change. How much change? Not sure. Looks like it could do a lot if you let it build up long enough.
But what's so terrible about cleaning up our planet, even if possibly there is not a dire threat yet?

George Bush has a secret time machine and went back with a big load of carbon dioxide so he could make the earth warm enough for dinosaurs. He did it because Bush was hoping dinosaurs would be around when people showed up and eat us all. Since the CO2 didn't last long enough for his plan to work, Bush made the Senate vote 95-0 to reject Kyoto during the Clinton administration hoping the dinosaurs would come back and eat us all just like he planned.
The scary thing is some liberals will believe what I just made up and quote me as if it is true...
Bush did it all so there would be enough dinosaurs to make lots of oil and he could get rich by selling it to the people the dinosaurs ate. Since that isn't working fast enough for Bush, he is trying to kill everybody in wars so dead people will turn into oil for Bush to sell. It's all about oil, and cars don't do very well on ice, so Bush made the ice age go away.

carbon dioxide and monoxide are the main causes of the global warming CO2 is produced by cars factories burning stuff Etc. but CO2 is not always a problem for example if the world has a lots of plants CO2 would not be a problem but because of humans lots of plants are gone Carbon monoxide is produced also in cars and if you lighted a candle and putted a jar on it it will produce CO witch is toxic

The Earth is currently in an interglacial period. (Actually, very close to the end of an interglacial period).

The CO2 emissions are causing an unusual amount of warming. This may result in a spike in global temperatures, perhaps lasting less than 1000 years.
Many will feel the effects.

It's kinda like a forest fire. A forest fire can have natural causes, such as lightning, or it can be caused by someone throwing a cigarette out the window of their car. Previous global warmings, and the ice ages, were caused by natural imbalances in the carbon cycle, etc., but this one is being caused by our use of fossil fuels.
I'm not a scientist, but that's how I understand it.

Your obviously not any kind of scientist, and what you think and believe really has no bearing to the facts of pollution and greenhouse gases. Scientist from all over the World voted and agreed to this. Triple PHD comes to mind when your speaking of Scientist, they know what they are saying that the Bush Administration wants to ignore. I don't think there is a Conservative in the scientific community with a PHD let alone having any qualifications to rule on this subject.

When an asteroid hit the earth plunging through the mantle the amount of debris thrown up into the atmosphere caused the suns rays to be blocked causing the earth to cool down forming your ice age. Also the logic is a major astroid hit the earth causing her to be knocked off balance causing the axis tilt therefore giving us winters and summers.

tell, you what i'll do...you please think about your question first...that's like asking 'if there is famine in the world, why does burger king have to throw away unsold food?'...the fact is, the link between the burning of fossil fuels and the release of 'greenhouse gases' has been understood and accepted by the scientific community for a long long time...the effects of greenhouse gases was studied back in the 1800's...the warnings about climate change due to these emissions have been discussed for half a century...there was enough scientific consensus that presidential speeches as far back as the middle 1960's mentioned them...even dubya, in an interview with npr, admitted to the reality of global warming...it's only talking heads on conservative POLITICAL shows and the far right who still run around denying it...even the utility companies and industrial giants accept it as fact...who are you gonna believe, the national academy of sciences and noaa or rush limbaugh?

The earth has cycles. We have measured them over time since we have begun recording history. By studying ancient tree rings and core sections from the poles they have seen hot/cold patterns from before recorded history.

No doubt as we humans continue to reproduce and increase our numbers along with the commensurate fuel burning activity, we can begin to influence these natural cycles as well.

This too is a normal process of evolution. The earth will survive, and so will any number of other creatures. Arguably we can ultimately screw things up for our kind and the particular way of life as we know it today, but we too will evolve.

It's called natural selection.

I see what you are saying. Global Warming is all just theory. Nothing has been proven. There have been Ice Ages and similar phenomena while there were no people on the earth. Volcanoes throw more toxic gasses into the atmosphere than anything man-made.

It's become a political hot button and is being used to scare people. I think it's rediculous that we are spending all this money on its research. Can't we all just do our part by being common sense enviornment conscious?

So I drive an SUV? I also recycle, I don't litter, smoke, or cut down trees to build 28,000 ft. homes, fly on private jets, then tell other people they shouldn't do it. I really resent it that people are shoving this crap down our throats all in the name of politics.
