Hi..

She currently drives a big Denali XL and loves it. She has had minivans, and sedans before but we have a lot of kids, and she likes the "safety" of the big vehicle. She also has a lead foot on the gas and on the brake.....

What should we look at and why?

If you don't mind paying the high price for gas, and wasting gas with the lead foot then she is doing OK now.

Actually a big vehice is no more safe than a sedan, don't be fooled into thinking that. Just recently here a trailblazer ran into a miata and the person in the trailblazer died but the guy in the miata only had bruises and scratches. Get a good small suv if you have lots kids like a honda element. Or get a diesel, and if you want to save money run it off of biodeisel(only costs .50 cents per gallon to run pure biodeisel made by yourself)

Dodge Caravan. They have a lot of getup and go, can haul a lot of kids, and are very highly safety rated. Plus, it's not so heavy a vehicle as to decimate an entire family when she plows over them trying to be the first to the soccer field parking lot.

My sister has a Dodge Caravan and she loves it!! She can't stop talking about how great when people ask her. She loves the fact that she has a sliding door on each side and that they practically shut by themselves with like no effort. Plus I think she has a remote to open and close them. She loves the storage under the floor. The fact that she has the option to move seats, add, remove whatever. Gets decent gas mileage. She has two girls in car seats and a large dog. Oh..and a husband.

Take a look at a Dodge diesel rig, spunky enough but not dangerous, heavy built and a added engine brake.

both saturn and gmc have new vehicles right up your alley. they seat 8, drive and handle like a car, and are very nice inside. also they are american made vehicles, support the U.S., not the japs!!
