Rascal Flatts was named the vocal group of the year, but upon winning the award, they presented it to Alabama. Jay Demarcus called Alabama up to the stage to accept the honor. "There are some heroes in this category with us tonight, and they say that they're on their farewell tour, and they're the reason we do this," Demarcus said. "And, we think they deserve this award. We want to give it to Alabama."
