To get rid of the flakes put some Vaseline on your lips and gently exfoliate them with a washcloth. Cherry Chapstick will prevent them from getting dry again and also add a pinkish tint.

Find yourself a Beauti Control consultant and purchase their Lip Appeal. It has a conditioning mask for your lips and a great lip balm to use after the mask and nightly before bed. Burt's Bees makes a great lip balm now that is tinted. I saw them today at Walgreens and there were several colors to choose from.

THAT IS A SIGN!
they say if your lips chap constantly it could be that you do not drink enough water! they say lips are a sign to your intestinal health or that you have a slow metabolism wich means you should basically drink more water and excersize.
I noticed my lips have gotten much better now that I excersize more. also after you shower you should rub off the dead skin with a towel and moisterize asap.

one really important thing is to never lick your lips! doing this will dry them out the same way water on your hands on a cold day will dry them out.
keeping that in mind, just remember to keep applying chapstick, preferably ones infused with flower wax. those protect against wind, sun, snow etc. etc. good luck!!

next time you brush your teeth, also GENTLY scrub your lips with your toothbrush. people suggest rubbing them immediately with vasoline afterwards, but any kind of chapstick or nothing at all works just fine.
