generic meds are the exact same thing as the brand

some dumb*** like you just feel better about themselves when they buy the more expensive one.

I buy generic brand in some things because generic is just as good.

It depends on what the product is....there are some things that I buy the brand name of because the generic just does not measure up. Most of the time I get generic though.

We are all so sucked into the advertising and pacaging.I buy generic ibuprofin.It saves me and extra 2-3 dollars.I guess i am sometimes cheap, frugile and determined not to pay more for brands just because i have been overly exposed to them on TV.Example: ADVIL.Advil IS Ibuprofin.For your own edification look at ingredients of generic and the well known brand.They are the same.Then ask yourself by spending more,are you getting more?

Some of the generics are of equal quality or taste, And in many cases the generic or store brand is packaged by the exact same company .
Why give the extra margin, pricewise to "the man"?

Because I'm financially savvy. Same company makes the generic that makes the brand. You're paying extra for a pretty label and commercials.
I, on the other hand, own a home.

I buy generic when it's the same thing as the branded one, which is almost all the time. That doesn't make me cheap, that just makes me smart and means that I use my brain!

I buy generic for some things. Especially if it is one ingredient of many. They generally taste the same - some are even packaged by the some big name brands. Don't be such a snob.

Sometimes the generic is just as good as the name brand... BUT there are some things that HAVE to be name brand

I shop by ingredients, not brands. Most of the time, generics have the exact same ingredients in the same proportions, but without the brand name, which suckers like you think has to be there for the product to be good.
