If you think about it, you should be able to think of some superstitions. How about using some superstitions from your own country? It will be very interesting, and remind your teacher that there's more to this world than just America.

If you break a mirror, it's seven years bad luck.

If you spill salt, you need to throw some over your left shoulder, to appease the demons that lurk on your left-hand side (your left side is evil-- it's called "sinister" when the right side is called "dexter.")

Find a penny, pick it up. The rest of the day, you'll have good luck.
Find a penny, let it lie-- by the end of the day, you're sure to cry.

If a black cat crosses your path, it's bad luck. (for a year?)

Don't open your umbrella indoors. (unlucky)

Don't walk under ladders. (unlucky)

Finding a four-leaf clover is good luck.

When someone sneezes, say "God bless you" to scare their soul back inside and keep evil spirits from getting in; if you sneeze when you're alone, protect yourself by snapping your fingers three times.

When you suddenly shiver (and it's not cold out), it means someone's walking over your grave.

In Japan, they say that when you sneeze spontaneously, it means someone is saying bad things about you.

3. step on a crack (break your mother's back)
4. fail to pick up a penny seen on the ground (see a penny, pick it up, all the day you'll have good luck; see a penny and let it lay, bad luck will follow all the day)
