My 1977 Lincoln did that and it was the door lock assembly. Change it out for a new one. It isn't hard. Just follow the directions and you'll do fine.

Hi!
I dont know how to fix it, but I had to respond because I have a kia sportage and have had the same problem.
Luckily i live in the southeast and havent had too many very cold nights. But on the freezing nights, i know the next day my doors are going to be stuck and i normally cant open them till it warms up some.
Maybe its a kia thing

Spray a little wd40 in the lock holes and wipe down the wheatherstipping around the door with an oil soaked rag it should take care of it.

It probably is the latch getting water in it. Just spray a little WD 40 or silicone based lubricant on it (the part of the latch in the door jamb) and this should solve your problem.

I'm guessing that the latch mechanism is getting water into it and freezing. Try spraying the latch with wd40 the night before it gets cold

i hope you aren't too far south to find this product , it's lock de-icer , basically anhydrous alcohol , spray that on your lock and latch mechanism then some wd40 it will get the moisture out , lube the lock with some powdered graphite and you should be good to go
