What's a thrid party suit whenyour suing someone???

That's pretty simple. That is when you (the plaintiff) sue someone (the defendant) and the defendant in turn sues a third party, claiming that third party liable INSTEAD of themselves (in part or in whole). This creates a 3rd party defendant. If that 3rd party defendant in turn sues someone else in that action, the 3rd party defendant becomes a 3rd party plaintiff, and the new party is the 4th party defendant, and so on.

Sometimes a defendant will name other defendants who may also share blame for the allegations alleged by the plaintiff.
