My 14-year old daughter has dark circles under her eyes all of the time. She gets plenty of sleep and I don't think anything stressful is going on in her life right now. She has tried using concealers and foundations to cover the dark circles, but nothing seems to work. Why does she have them in the first place, and how can she get rid of them?

Put a spoon under running water for about 2 minutes then apply to the eye area and hold there. It should feel soothing.

You can also place a few spoons in coldwater and put in freezer/fridge but make sure they do not ice over.

There is some fantastic eye creams these days, i reccomend Bio-Essence which I used when I get them. You get results within a few minutes

My 12 year old also has dark circles and has since she was very young.
I found a cream from avon that is great, it's called Anew Alternative Intensive Eye Cream. I noticed a difference in a few days.
I used it on me too and I don't have them real bad but I noticed a difference the next morning.
The cause can be many different reasons, the most common probably blood oxidation.
Check out the website for more info.

Make sure she's not anemic first. Get some blood work done.
Sometimes allergies cause dark circles.
So can genetics.
Last, but not least - so can illicit drug use.

Try concealers such as:
Erace
Dermablend
Illuminare
MAC has some good ones too

A gel eyemask works great, especially if you apply a little intense moisture lotion on the circles before putting on the mask and going to sleep. As for concealers, I like NYColor's yellow corrective stick--if her circles are very purple, it might do the trick. (It's light weight but has a strong color.)

Soak two green tea bags in lukewarm water and have her place them over her eye sockets/the circles for a few hours or as she sleeps. I'm 16, and this helps for me.
