I will be going away for awhile (more than 6 months), and will not be using my phone. However, I would still like to keep my number. What's the cheapest way to do this? Pre-paid plans look the best, but I'm wondering if there is anything better.

Thanks!

go for one of those plans where u buy phone cards to fill your account.. i think its called pay as you go. So u would buy $5, $10 $15 $20 whatever amouht u want and it would have a deadline, like in 30 days it expires unless u put another card in... so u keep doing that. u keep the money as long as u dont miss ur deadline so when u come back in 6 months u will have like couple hundred dollrs to spend when u get back

depends on what carrier you have. i know that some carriers have a vacation suspend where they charge a minimum cost to keep # but to have the phone suspended and it does not extend your contract and it can last for around 6 months. you would need to call your customer service to check
