Wow that's a diverse list, but I know of a few books you might enjoy.

Cirque du Freak series-JK Rowling is a fan, it's very fast paced and spooky.

"The Oracle Betrayed"-if you liked House of the Scoprion this is like that, except it's more fantasy than science fiction. "The Giver" and "A Wrinkle in Time" are other good stories to read.

Try some of Vivian Vande Velde's and Meg Cabot's are similar to some of Sharon Creech's stories. Also "Chasing Redbird" and "Summer of the Swans" are good books to read.

I've enjoyed Lois Lowry. She's the author of The Giver, but the others after that were Gathering Blue and messenger. She also wrote one that was pretty sad.

Another writer in this type of genre is Lurlene McDaniel. I've read a few and found myself with tears in my eyes. Sometimes I need a good cry.

I stumbled on Alice Hoffman's Green Angel. It's a short book, but it struck a chord with me. I then went on to read Aquamarine and Indigo.

Lots of people are BIG on Twilight, by Stephenie Meyer. I did enjoy it. I also like fantasy, with Anne McCaffrey being my favorite. She writes about a place called Pern, inhabited by dragons. Humans crash on the planet and make their way there, some impressing dragons (becoming partners) and the must fight Thread, which devours whatever it touches. This series was way before Eragon.

Yes... these books called Warriors( a series currently with 12 books) by Erin Hunter are great... it's about cats living in four seperate clans in the wild... or Ella Enchanted (which is nothing like the movie... it is a million times better than the movie) by Levine... many books by Levine are really good
