You can make an insurance claim under your contents policy for the repair cost... you'll need to obtain a report from a repairer and send it in first though

This Will sound really silly but if you take a screwdriver to your lappy and physically take the keyboard out you can WASH it yes i mean in water but leave the keyboard for at least 12 hours to dry before re-connection another good way to get without spilt coffee is again take out the keyboard and use some acid based solution such as after-shave, deodorant or vinegar to clean the membrane of the keyboard.
If you decide to wash it don't use any soap or detergent on the membrane as this would damage the membrane beyond repair

Try some 3M Electronics Cleaner from Office Depot. It is an evaporatative foam. If you need to replace the keyboard, most keyboards are held in by a few screws and can be released by removing those screws from the botton of the notebook. Be cautious of the ribbon cable underneath the keyboard. Some ribbon cables are attached to a header block that uses a slide stick to release the cable.

Notebook keyboards can cost anywhere from $90 and up.

You should not turned on any electronics device when it is wet, until and unless it is absolutely designed for underwater. Otherwise it causes shot circuit. My suggestion is take the battery out and detach from electricity. Wait until it becomes dry or dry it. Then turn it on. If it doesn't work. Then, I think, you have to go to repair shop.

this may sound crazy, but use an eyedropper and put some hot water over the area... . whilst the lappers is turned off, then turn it upside down and leave for at least 4 hours... .

it`ll work fine... .

all PCB boards are protected.

You can get new keyboards quite cheaply. Careful the coffee didn't go further in - make sure its dry! Check your insurance.
