from yahoo:
"The message boards that were linked from individual news articles have been taken offline. As they were set up, the Yahoo! News message boards allowed a small number of vocal users to dominate the discussion. In addition, related discussions from similar news articles were not easily linked."

Oh wow. Finally, an admission that the net's al quaeda -- conservative trolls -- shut down an entire part of yahoo's "online community."

They always say anything you do in the way of surrender gives moral support to al quaeda. Isn't yahoo taking their message boards offline the very same thing?

Let's hope trolls don't destroy this, too. I just noticed that Yahoo kicked a recent troll (LiberalsHateAmerica) off of Answers. At least they're paying some attention to that kind of thing now.

They didn't really admit that the "vocal users" who "dominate the discussion" are conservative.
Of course, you and I know most of them are.
But I don't think all of em are.
For instance, there's this guy right now that just asked like three or four deranged questions about: how do I talk to Bush-supporters, do I just have to bleat like a sheep baaa baaa.
That's a little trollish.
I can relate, poor guy probably just hit his breaking point getting the same stupid answers over and over.
Anyway, he should have just tried, metaphorically, bleating like a sheep to convince conservatives to think outside the box. For instance, I've been saying on some threads lately stuff like "I know guns and guts will be required, but brawn without brains is what got us into this mess."
Of course, that doesn't mean much of anything, but it is convincing in the same, stupid way as "I don't wanna cut and run because if we don't fight them there we'll have to fight them here."
Point is, you can win an argument with a troll. Just come up with a new, stupid grunting noise that they haven't heard before, and they think you're a genius.
I know that's harsh, but awww heck, if all it takes to win an election is to say the kinda horse-dooty that makes average folk feel warm inside and that verbally massages their genitals, then I wish the democrats would just go ahead and lower themselves and win.
You know, same policy, but sell it with one-liners and facial expressions.

Watch out for those "liberal trolls" too, though. I'd say trolls of either type are just as bad. What we need is decent level-headed people who can think for themselves!

No , they are just allowing things to cool down . It will also give them the chance to improve the boards as well. Comparing conservitives with a terrorist organization only proves you are just as bad as those who's viewpoints you oppose.

It's no coincidence that yahoo shut down the message boards right when the libs came into power. Nancy Pelosi demanded that Yahoo shut down the boards because she can't handle free speech.
