I'm trying to find the name of the movie.. it was a children's adventure/magic movie made most likely in late 80s, that had a huge white talking dog, the size of an elephant, and I'm not sure but it maybe had wings. What's the name of the movie? thx!

Sounds like The Neverending Story...But I'm not too sure he was a dog. He was called Falcor.

Could it be The NeverEnding Story? It's not a dog; it's a flying dragon named Falcor, I think. He was furry with floppy ears, though--looked a lot like a dog. The kid also had an Indian friend.

"The NeverEnding Story" (original German title Die Unendliche Geschichte) is the 1984 film adaptation of the German fantasy novel by Michael Ende. Starring Barret Oliver as Bastian and Noah Hathaway as Atreyu.
The "dog" is a Luck Dragon named Falkor. Probably one of the cutest darn animals in film, if you ask me.
