That's pretty much the definition of an outlet: a store that has cheaper clothing than the "generic" store, but with the same brand.

I don't know about Abercrombie and Fitch but I was recently in Aeropostale and PacSun outlets and the prices on average weren't that much cheaper. For most outlet stores though, they are.

If you want a really good outlet store for clothes than check out Ross. It's so awesome and it carries clothing that looks like Abercrombie and Fitch!

Outlets are cheaper. Because they often lack charm and atmosphere or are in far flung places.
