Why do guys expect to marry virgins but don't stay virgins themselves? I am saving myself for my husband but why wouldn't my husband save himself for me? I don't think its fair when guys talk so big and sleep around with girls and expect their wives to be virgins.

Dear Always Love, Why do women think that all men are like this? If I told you that I waited for my wife would you believe it? Probably not! What's wrong with wanting a virgin guys are as promiscuous as women are, your not naive are you? There are allot of slutty women out there. Don't you agree? It's just that women seem to think men are pigs (big stereotype). Guess what?
I didn't wait for my wife to have sex either but I can honestly say that every woman I was ever with sexually that I cared or loved deeply so isn't that a better reason than to just say I'm waiting for my husband to be or my wife to be? A word to the wise is sufficient, try the shoe on before you buy it. Good luck and I will say I still admire your convictions but it isn't reality.

IF feel that a state of virginity also comes with your personal state of mind. For example, a girl who wants to "do everything" except sex is not exactly pure-- as compare to a girl who has been in a few serious long termed relationships that involved lovemaking.
For a guy to "expect" that his bride to be is a virgin might have a "few" insecurity issues. Communication, compassion, understanding, and most of all LOVE is what matters. Of course, there are other things too!!!
Media pressure is the force behind the 'instructions' that tell us how we should behave. Listen to your heart, use your heart, and forget about conforming to the world if it is going against your personal values.

Do guys really expect their wives to be virgins these day? That's ridiculous. The last thing I want is a virgin. I want someone with at least a little experience...maybe a lot.

In Italy there is a saying. Men have 100 honors, women have only 1.
Its just the thought of society since the beginning of time because of the way we were treated so low and unimportant until giving birth to our husbands children.
Its also because woman can get pregnant and men cant.
There are many reasons why this is. But dont make your virginity solely based on marriage. Love is what you should give it up for.

They expect their wives to be virgins because if they are not it's more of a chance for them to get something like AIDS and if they ever divorce a wife that gave them AIDS then they won't be able to not be virgins while they are divorced.

Unless she is lacking in libido, she probably doesn't want to have sex with you for a reason. Maybe she doesn't want invest a notch off her bedpost for someone that won't be there for her in the future? Or maybe she doesn't love, since if she really cared and thought that she wouldn't find someone else like you ever, she'd invest in a long-distance relationship. Or perhaps you have a little dick, and she doesn't want to waste her time with you. All I know is that if I loved someone, I wouldn't want to waste a moment with her until she's not there anymore.

I so agree with you - but its how things have been for centuries.. its like how before women couldnt vote and they werent allowed to do certain things and they were properties of their husbands...
And the virginity for girls is more important because long time ago without condoms and birth controls male would like the girl to have his children to pass on the blood etc... i just think it is unfair!
