I just recently turn 17. All I can think about is you know...getting good grades, get into college, get a career, fall in love, get married and have kids. I just think married life will be so great. Then I will be truly happy. I will feel important and worth being love. No matter what I'm going to find the perfect person, and have the perfect job.

It sucks now. Most of my life my parents have been too busy to pay enough attention to me. I just don't get it. They say they don't have enough time. But yet when I helped out around the house, they stil didn't have the time. Are parents so wrapped up in work and other affairs? If I'm older, It would be a lot easier for me to create my own happiness.

I'm not sad. I have just accepted things the way they are for now.

I will always have my youth. I'm the type of person who is really serious. and I see myself getting younger as I grow older.

Lets just say I'm a bit over 17. I can tell you this, getting married does not lead to feeling important or does it make you worthy of Love. You must first be happy within yourself and love yourself first. That means taking care of yourself, getting good grades, college and a career that you are satisfied with. Marriage is great when you can go into it as a complete individual as yourself. Sorry to say sometime I think being a teenager sucks so that when we're adults we can look back and appreciate how good we had it compared to the responsibilties we now have. Don't worry you'll figure it out and I wish you all the Luck with finding that special someone that adds to who you are. Just make sure that it is NOT someone that tells you who You are.

I No Ur Not Sad & I No How U Feel About Parents Not Spending Enough Time With U. My Mom Just Recently Got Remarried & It Used 2 Always Be Her...Me & My Sister & She Never Has Time 2 Just Hang Out With Us & Be Our Mom. We Seriously All R Best Buds Cuz We're So Close 2 Our Mom. She's So Wrapped Up In Brian (Step-dad) That It's Like She Doesn't Have Time 4 Us & She'll Nag Cuz We're Always On The Computer But That's Cuz We Have Nothing Else 2 Do When She's With Brian & It's Not Like We're Here. I Love My Mom & I'm SOOO Glad That She's Happy But We Haven't Changed The Way We Want 2 Hang Out & We Wish She Wouldn't. We Thought That Would Never Change. Plus We're Also Always On The Computer Cuz We Like Talking 2 Ppl Cuz We Don't Exactly Get 2 Communicate All That Much When We're Here Cuz U No She's So Caught Up With Brian. Anyways Don't Think That After Getting Married All Of That Is Going 2 Change Cuz It Won't. U'll Have Equal Struggles But U'll Go Thru Those Struggles With Someone That Loves U A Lot So I Guess It's Better Anyways.

By the way you are talking, it seems like you will always be unhappy. You are never going to enjoy yourself in the present because you're always looking toward the future. I bet that you couldn't wait to be a teenager when you were a kid, and now, you can't wait until you grow up. Marriage does not often lead to happiness. You think you know what makes you happy, but you really have no idea. Try to enjoy the moment. You will not always have your youth. Enjoy it while you can and make the most of what you have now.

ok princess ok but remember this "life is often what happens to you while your waiting for something better to come along" don't be so obsessed with all of the perfection that you forget to live in the here and now good stuff happens there too It's great to dream of the future but it's the things done now that make up the future which all to soon becomes now . sorry to sound so old it happened while I was waiting to be respectably middle aged .

I will tell you that teenager sucks because they do worry about all those things you listed and many more instead of enjoying their life to the fullest (not the drinking and smoking) and doing their best in school. Everything is about fitting in therefore worry about everything that keeps them from letting their true personality shine through! Be strong and honest and do your best to get the most out of life!

17 is ok, you can start to do all those things if you want, work on the grades, meet someone and start to get all the things you want. You are now at the point when your life is virtually your own, enjoy it. it sucks more the older you get!
