well picking up your feet would be a good idea. but i have the same problem. try to touch something metal like a railing or a machine as often as possible. you dont have too look like you have OCD when you do it just lean up against something. or always hold the railng going up or down the stairs. this way you discharge your static electricity more often so the shock wont be as bad or even noticeable. the weather out there is obviously dry. so try and wear open toed shoes without socks also.

hmm... well the air is really dry... since you ARE in a desert and all. But.. rubber soled socks, grounding yourself whenever possible... (ex. touching the metal part of your car as you exit), don't shuffle your feet on the carpet, keep around lots of lotion (and use it), static spray on your clothes, etc.
BUT... unfortunately, there's no way around it... unless you don't touch ANYTHING. It's impossible. It's just one of the things you have to deal with when visiting Las Vegas (or any other desert). It's like going to Seattle and not wanting it to be gloomy, or going to D.C in the summer and not wanting it to be humid, or visiting Minnesota in the winter and not wanting it to be freezing. It's all a part of the experience.

Good question !
I was there in December and was getting shocked left right and centre, it was so annoying, even when I had rubber soled shoes on. I'm going to get one of those anti static strips that you used to get hanging from the bottom of cars, I think that might help. (only kidding) I wish I knew how to stop this, I thought I was going to get electrocuted last time.

it would desire to be 2 separate happenings. With very dry air on your place simply by iciness heating and utilising a vacuum purifier, you may get a static value advance interior the hose, plastic or metallic. it is going to zap the hell out of you once you touch and discharge it.maximum all vacuum cleaners in the present day are created from plastic and are practically impossible to get an electric powered marvel from potential source( not static ). The breaker might desire to have tripped considering which you overloaded that circuit and you lost potential to the easy that's on that comparable circuit.consistent with probability you had an area heater plugged in on the comparable line simply by fact the vacuum grew to become into on and it would desire to not handel the mixed amp draw of the two .

First I thought this was a joke, but one way to avoid this is to Get your a** pierced and hook a chain to it. Dragging the chain around as you walk will constantly keep the potential the same and no static charge will build up.
Good Luck

When getting out of a car, touch metal part of door, before getting out. It stops getting shocked for me.

Haha i had that problem too the last time i went... Theres really nothing you can do about it... It just depends on how dry the hotels/casinos are. If they have alot of humidity this wont happen. lol :)
