Yesterday, I noticed that my vagina started itching, so I washed it. now, whenever I go to the bathroom, I wash it just to make sure that it stays as clean as possible. Anyways, that night- I looked at my vagina, and I noticed that I also had a very thick white discharge, and I know for a fact that it's not my normal. It's thick and clumpy..not slimy.
Anyways, I was planning to take a pregnancy test tomorrow because I've missed my period by a week. So, i was wondering whether or not using Monistat would effect the result of a pregnancy test?
Anyways, I'm most likely going to a planned parenthood sometime this week just to get it checked out to make sure.

The thick white discharge is typical of a yeast infection. It's part of how you know it's yeast that's the problem! I haven't heard about monistat making a difference in a pregnancy test, but i guess i could see how it or the discharge could affect whether you get enough pee on the stick for a home pregnancy. So if at all possible i would not try the "peeing on the stick method" but use a disposable cup to collect some pee and get it on the stick. And make sure you get mid-stream pee like they do in the doc's office by peeing a little bit, cleaning yourself, and peeing in the cup, but stopping before you are finished. I do know for a fact though (from the monistat website) that yeast treatments contain ingredients that can weaken latex, so you should not rely on condoms or diaphragms while treating one. Hope this helped some. Good luck!
