First you are best to remove yourself from whoever or whatever is making you angry - even if it means you just go to the next room or disappear into the toilet!

Then try counting backwards from 10 (if that doesn't work try a bigger number like 50 or even 100) just to distract your mind for a little while and enable yourself to regain rational thoughts.

You can even try blocking one nostril with a finger and breath deeply through the other. This has a calming effect.

Go to a room where you can be alone for a few minutes (the bathroom works when all else fails!) Let the anger wash over you like a wave, but do not hold onto it. After a few minutes, you should feel a little better and able to function at least partially in real life. Of course, if you are still angry after a few hours, this is a good forum to vent anger and frustration in. Try to clear away the anger before you go to sleep.
Also, if you can go out to a movie alone or just go grocery shopping. Changing your environment can really help.

I usually talk to myself alone in my room, reason it all out, maybe cry if it deserves it..
But that's that. Never more and for anger, I'm usually rid of it by the end of the day ^_^

If you act hastily on your anger, often it will disappear almost immediately, to be replaced with embarrassment, regret, sorry and the desire to atone.
