You can use a topical thing like Preparation H for the hemorroids...that will help get rid of them quickly...dont force it...go slow, and a stool softener is often given to women when they leave the hospital. Once the hemorroids are gone...it will be 100% better! Also..a sitz bath in water and baking soda (like 1/4 cup) will help soothe.

Ditto to Melissa. Use stool softeners, which will help you not to strain on the toilet. Also eat lots of fiber, and take Advil for the swelling and pain. I was sore for a good two weeks, and I used the stool softeners, and cleaned myself with just witch hazel pads (not the toilet paper--it was dry and scratchy, and made me hurt), and used the peri bottle LIBERALLY for at least three weeks.

use a stool softener to help with the discomfort. I used one for about a week. After that is was still uncomfortable but not painful. I'm at 6 weeks post partum and it doesn't hurt anymore.

I'm 9 weeks postpartum and feel fine now. I had to have lactulose for the first couple of weeks because it was really painful plus I had bad stomach pains whenever I had to "go".

It takes about a week or two....try drinking alot of juices...they naturally soften up your stools so it will be easier to push them out!
