I appreciate the taste and security of bottled water. Sometimes the city could have a breakdown and you may not know it unless you are watching tv and an important announcement comes on. Personally, tap water is fine for cooking (giving it doesn't stink or look wierd) but for plain drinking, I prefer water delivery. (not so sure I can trust a filter as much...I mean, how do you test the filter and be sure it's true?)

Toronto tap water is excellent.
The ones selling filter systems are just doing there job, that is to take your money.
If you did want to filter it, just to freshen it up ( for lack of better words) just use a very basic filter for taste/ chlorine.
Don't waste you cash on a fancy filter system you do not need.

There's some place in toronto where they have bottled and spring and tap water each hooked up to water fountains. Most people can't tell which is the tap water.
Its probably safer then bottled water, to be honest.
