I think it would be okay. I have heard nothing but good things about baby einstein so if they make one for that age then why not.

Just don't turn it into a crutch for you. He can watch a Baby Einstein video or anything with bright colors, movement and good music. Just keep it under control. When he gets bored, play with him and only let him watch a little while you pee, make dinner or are watching with him. The Baby Einstein, and a lot of TV and DVDs made for babies, toddlers, and preschoolers have value, just don't overdo it. Reinforce what your child is seeing by pointing out and naming the colors, letters, numbers etc and singing the songs at other times too.

Baby Einstein is not very effective in raising your child's intelligence. Remember, Mozart and Einstein did not have Baby Einstein tapes, and they still ended up doing pretty well. I think a better use of your child's time is to read to him. Even if you read the newspaper out loud, you're improving his vocabulary by exposing him to new words and proper sentence structure. And a little TV now and then will not make your baby any less successful as an adult.

My daughter is/was the same way. We started her a little later (about 9 months or so) but she would sit and watch and interact back. She's now 2 1/2 yrs old and she still loves her Baby Einstein movies. We're working on getting her the older kids versions too.

I think I started my son at 6 months with Baby Einstein. Now he loves Little Einsteins. I don't see a problem.

The fact that TV is bad for babies is incorrect on all levels. If you incorporate TV with something educational like, well, baby einstein, the child will have an early start at learning. Another theory that you could try is if you have him watch a concierto of classical music such as mozart or beetoven.

Now. Baby einstein is WAY better than the fast moving images you see on tv and commercials. Those images are way too stimulating for a little one. My son liked to watch baby einstien videos when he was very little...and he is very active now. I can't get him to watch any cartoons at 1 year old.

she could watch now...my daughter just turned one on the 10th of jan and she has watched baby einstien since she was about 5 months old...the colors and music is good for them..the images are vivid and beautiful, even I would watch with her. since she was 6 months ,we put on THE BACKYARDIGANS and she loves it, she hears the music and looks at the tv with a smile and she bounces. It's amazing what kids that age can comprhend.
