I am driving from Tampa. We plan on eating breakfast before we go at Mcdonalds. We want to eat a light lunch and maybe some ice cream later in the day and then have a nice dinner. I would like to get my son some Mickey ears and myself a Christmas decoration. Is 400 enough? The tickets are going to be like 180

Aw- you are too cute- Mickey ears for the son and a Xmas ornament for you- I don't know why that makes me giggle but it does- I guess because it seems like you are very simple and not one of these people who loads up an entire airplane with all kinds of stuff like those big 4 foot Mickey Mouses!
Make sure you let them know you want to resident rate- it is cheaper and applies to all FLoridians-McDonald's is a smart choice- just don't hit the one that is ON Disney property- there's actually two- one at Downtown Disney and one near Wide World of Sports- they inflate their prices.
Lunch- depending on what park you go to- there are lots of simple sandwhich and burger joints- probably run you $12-15 a person- but the food isn't all that bad.
Dinner- try BOMA at Animal Kingdom Lodge- perfect for kids and adults- it's a buffet with all kinds of interesting food options- but many basics for the kids. Make reservations though- it is very popular and a little pricey- but won't break the bank- well worth your one little splurge- make sure if you get there when there is still some daylight out you can walk out onto the savannah and see some of the animals.
Or try any of the character dinners- cost about the same as BOMA but you get to eat with the characters. You will want reservations for one of those too- there are many throughout the resort.
I hope you have fun- and good luck picking out just "one" Xmas ornament!
Don't forget to get your son's name embroirdered on the back of his hat- I think it's only an extra $5-$8- but I could be wrong!

Mickey ears are ~$13. I just went two months ago. They can get up to $25...I would plan on $50 to spend on gift-like items, lunch ~$20, drinks and snacks through the day ~$20, dinner (it is almost worth eating out of Disney bc they close at 6pm) but dinner would be $40-50... Good luck. PS- there is a Disney discount store at the Prime Outlet Mall off of Vine Road (i think that is the road) they have shirts, souviner, xmas stuff, and I got a Eeore (or how ever you spell it) for $15 when it was over $50

That sounds like enough. The tickets are usually cheaper than that. They're more like $60. If you want to have a nice dinner I would say go for it. There are plenty of nice restaurants like Cinderella's Royal table, especially for your son. If you want a light lunch and some ice cream you should probably try one of the small snack counters. The ears usually don't cost that much, neither do the Christmas decorations. Have fun!

It should be enough. You are on the right track - good breakfast, light lunch and some icecream later, and nice dinner. The mickey souvenirs are a little expensive but just the ears are not that much. Just dont go overboard in the souvenir shops.

Well let's price it out:
Lunch per person at any Disney quick service location: approx. $8-$10
Ice cream per person: $5
Nice Dinner (I recommend any at the resort hotels - especially the buffets): $20-$25 per person
Christmas decoration: $10-$35
Mickey Mouse Ears: $15
Then add your tickets and any drinks you get throughout the day - you should be just fine with $400, or less even.

The Crystal Pavillion at the Magic Kingdom is a great place to eat. I would go there for lunch (because it costs less for lunch) and do dinner at one of the other "counter service" restaurants or grab a turkey leg from one of the wagons. ((I know its much cheaper to buy multiday tickets- and since you are a FL resident you can get a year pass cheap.)) If you do just a 1 day pass and limit trinkets you could get by on $400.

Well, you're only going one day? I'm positive your son is going to want some treats from the stores, and such. Plus there are additional costs for little things. I'm guessing bring a little bit more than four hundred just in case you're stuck in a jam and ran out of money. It's never to bad to have too much you know. You can always go and put it back in your account.

A ton--tickets are around $60+ each--unless you get a deal--for more than one park and more than 1 day--Souvenirs are overpriced but are worth it--(the ones on site are really pricey--I've heard of people who buy things at the Disney store--online or at eh stores in malls--and bring them with--and then tell their kids they got them at the park!)--I think you'll be okay if it just you and your son and maybe one other person--You will barely make it--
(you can also take snacks with you--in your bag--etc...because food is very overpriced)

Have fun!!
