hello i at the verge of screaming outloud because my mic wont wokr. ive been trying for the past hour! ok i stuk the mic in the bak of the computer where it says mic. my mic has no on off switch. wen i put in the mic i get no sound tht usually comes when something i plug something in. anyways i goto control panel and goto the sound thing and wen i test hardware under the voice tab it says no hardware found. wats going on?!?!? i have a creative volume control thing, maybe i have to do something under tht please help.

ok so if u dont know y thts not workin i also have a headset from "turtle beach" it is one of those really big ones with surround sound. it comes with a mic to insert in the side. ok so how do i get tht to wrk i. put in the mic in this whole so now what. do i have to enable it somewhere in the computer or wire something please help!

ill give points to anyone who can help..im in a state of depression :(

o i frgt when i soto the sound thing in the control panel under the voice tab, in voice playback and voice recording it says the default device is my sound card in both of them "SB Audigy 2 ZS [A000]

It sounds to me you have sound card installed. Could it not be that you are plugging the headsett into the onboard sound rather than the sound card.

The onboard sound plug holes are usually alligned vertically at the back of the comp or on the front of the comp horizontally. Sound card plug holes are alligned horizontally on the back of the comp.

Try that see if that helps

You usually have a place at the front of your computer to put the mic. But sometimes with headsets u have to plug in both the speaker line and the mic line to make it work.

It sounds like you have a built-in sound card and these are notorious for volume problems, they don't have the grunt of proper sound cards. You have to give us more details of your computer and OS before any sensible solutions could be offered.

Double click on the liitle cpeaker Icon at the Bottom Right of your screen and MAKE SURE the MIC is NOT MUTED

*IF* you don't see the little speaker......

1 Click START
2: Click CONTROL PANEL
3: Double Click on SOUNDS & AUDIO DEVICES
4: Click the AUDIO TAB
5: Click on VOLUME on BOTH SOUND RECORDING & PLAYBACK..

Make SURE MIC is NOT MUTED
