Success is achieving all round Growth- Happiness & comfortable life for family with security for future, Work- where what you do matters to others , you are respected & your contribution acknowldeged, Money- enough for today & a bit for tomorrow with a yearly family holiday thrown in, Power- not neccessary. With need for material things growing, a shopping spree ( the affordability ) will surely help you earn brownie points on success ladder. With monetary concern at ease, you would be able to spend time with your family & that would help your health also.
And finally- YOU should be content with what you can achieve thru honest labour to attain mental peace & satisfaction with your self.

Success, for me, is living well. By that, I mean having an intelligent, sexy wife, with whom I enjoy a variety of activities. I'm retired now, but when I was working, I was making real good money, but I was never focused on how much I could possibly make. We had enough to pay the bills and have some fun. That was enough.
Power? Never really had any of that, unless you count working in a school setting. I had power over the students. I was the leader of several bands, so I had power in that sense.
Mostly, success is being where I'm at now, with all 10 fingers, most of my mind, good health, and a beautiful surroundings; woods, river, etc.

Success mean different attributes to different people. To me and other objective people, Success simply means attainment of values that an INDIVIDUAL holds dear.
You can have a family but things dont turn up great for you,
You can have a good job but you are not happy,
You can have money and power but you are a worried jerk about losing it and stressed.
What you may consider success may not be to another person. It is a personality choice which is shaped by your upbringing and environment.

Happiness.
To me, if I grew up and was a happy, good person, I'd be successful. Power corrupts. Money can be too quickly lost. A good job can be just as soon taken by somebody seen as being "more competent". Family will stay. So will happiness. If you can be happy with yourself and the path you've chosen, you are truly successful.

I used to define it as having a prestigious job with lots of money. Now, success would be a full-time job that paid enough to cover my bills. Growing old is not for cowards. Two masters degrees and I still am having trouble finding a job.

Success is when you are able to juggle on all these things... and do good in all of them.. For me success in family relationships are the most important because my personal success is nothing w/o my family...

Success is when you fulfill your passions as well as your drives and needs. Success is being satisfied in every way but still having an internal hunger that drives you to do more than you could ever want or need.

After chasing money and success for 20 years, then divorcing and losing everything, I came upon my solution for "success." My wonderful girlfriend, down-to-Earth in every way, said that her definition was "loving and being loved."
I nearly cried in joy for having heard this simply put phrase. It guides my life, regardless of material or even spiritual things. Just so simple! I recommend it for a way of life. It really boils down to this phrase, my friend.

When you can leave a generational legacy.
When you are old enough to pass on and can look over your life and say, I provided and was provided for in love. When you can say I love my (Spouse) I love my children, I love my children’s children and theirs as well. Then not only loving them but forgiving them. Money comes and goes, Family comes and goes, and opportunities come and go, but when you can look at yourself in the mirror and say “I have enjoyed this journey and am loved” then you will have been successful.

I believe that once you accept your limitations, no matter how talented you perceive yourself to be, at that point you will be able to start enjoying the things that trully bring joy to your life and that is the true meaning of success.
